Turkey!!!!
This week we basically just set up for the big ol' skeleton project. At Thanksgiving I participaed in the sin of gluttony with much joy and enthusiasm. I was going to take a picture of my protruding gut, but decided that would be cruel and usual.

Critique!!!
This week we had our critique of our classmate drawings. It was very exciting to see all of the finished products from everyone in the class. We each had a fair amount of time to have our pieces evaluated, which is always helpful when planning for what to improve on next time.
Wednesday we spent most of the class critiquing the work in progress of an advanced student. This was very interesting because the nature of the piece had many of us wondering what it was trying to convey. Being a work in progress, the advance student will have the oppurtnity to make adjustments, something an artist doesnt always have. Later in class we had discussed our game plan for the rest of the semester, which will mainly include drawing a life size human skeleton. This will be quite the task, and not an easy one at that. Nevertheless, I am excited to get started on it.

Drawing Classmates!!!!
This week in my exciting life, we drew classmates as a follow up to our skull studies. In all, we will draw three, and two are basically completed. It is very difficult, especially because of how hard it is for a model to remain in the same position for such a long period of time. Also, no pressure drawing someone who will draw you, it definitely has no potential for possible awkward situation. These are pictures of Nathan and Brandon, and the next victim will be Jordan.
In other news, I spent the weekend painting some friends' basement in an "artistic" fashion, have wicked a capella jam sessions, and filing a ring out of wax. I also made some wicked music contacts, and will soon start a synth-driven power-pop band.
I wish.

Obscure Angles and Homecoming!!!!!!!!!!!!
Besides drawing from memory, this week we took on the harder-then-it sounds task of drawing skulls from unfamiliar angles. Even though we have been drawing skulls all month and you would think we would have it down pat, the rude awaking of completing this task succeeded in proving me qukte wrong. I post some pics up soon (i know I 've been saying this forever, but I will make good on my promise =] ...maybe). Today we will draw skulls from memory as some form of a quiz, or sadistic ritual...
This past weekend was homecoming and I cannot express how excited I was to not have homework in this class, especially considering I didn't complete any of my homework from the other classes. Its not that I am a bad student, I'm just expressing my opinion on the importance of picking your battles and taking losses. Sure, I lost 3 points in American Government, but i had a totally stellar and care-free weekend, and now feel rejuvenated to take on even larger amounts of homework.
But please don't.

Drawing from Memory!!!!!!!!!!
Today we draweded from memory. More specifically, we draweded skulls from memory. Although not necessarily easy, it was definitely fun. It was helpful that iI had a skull of my own...on my shoulders that is. Unfortunately it is currently covered in skin and hair, which makes it harder to draw. I figure in a hundred years or so, most of that stuff will be gone, making my skull much easier to draw. I often wonder if India Jones draweded skulls, being that he saw them so frequently. I imagine he did and was great at it.
I have a significant amount of pictures to put up from the last couple weeks and plan to do so soon, as I know how all of my multitudes of fans are dying to see them. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to leave this life of fame and luxury. Its hard to walk down the street everyday with people screaming at me, women chasing me, and men shooting me envious looks. Its tough being beautiful and talented....and beautiful. But alas, it is my curse, and I will persevere. Pics will be up soon, my lovely fans, pics will be up soon...

First Critique!!
We had our first critique this week, which is also my first critique of the new semester. Doing them in smaller groups first seemed to be a good way to really discuss and talk about what we observed and learned while doing this project. One thing that is always hard to judge is what t he teacher expects from us in each project. The cool thing is though, that there really is no one right or wrong way to do the project. There was a large variety of ways students attacked the project and Amy pointed out different strong points in each of them. Hopefully I will develop a better feel for what she is looking for.
I do not really know what is in store next for LD2, but in other art related what-nots, I am learning to solder in metals \m/ class. It is not easy, ut I am getting the hang of it. It will be interesting to see what skills I develop through that class, as it is all new to me. Tuesday we make jewelry from found objects. He calls it the One Day Wonder. I wonder why.
In other news; my amp is broke, my Ibanez is restrung, and I acquired a mini-fridge.
Pictures of the Skull project coming soon (hopefully tomorrow).
